Waste Management Services

The scenario

The council offers various specialist waste management services (e.g. garden waste collection) which usually involves the citizen (or business) requesting a collection of waste from their residence (or business). The service may be a scheduled recurring service or a one off collection. In most cases there is a charge for the service.

The challenge

The process is complicated, involving the selection of the correct service, payment collection, scheduling of the collection and confirmation that the service was carried out. It’s important that the whole process is managed from start to finish as it is impacts on several departments within the council and usually involves a third party contracted business to carry out the collection.
