A new planning application is received by the council.
Planning applications require complex process management and classification, produce large amounts of documentation and have to be externally published. Additionally, decisions are subject to appeal, so processes can be subjected to a high degree of scrutiny.
The Transformational Government Accelerator can manage a planning application throughout its lifecycle, enabling applications to be submitted directly, either in hard copy, or electronic formats or via the planning portal.
Applications are routed, categorised, published on the council’s web site, approved process and, ultimately declared as records. Throughout the process, service levels are monitored and escalations triggered when tasks overrun. Data gathered is aggregated and rolled up into the relevant National Indicators for performance reporting and continuous improvement.
All associated documentation is categorised and indexed, allowing councils to use the powerful search engine to instantly discover all applications meeting given criteria in any combination, such as those where road access was affected, listed buildings involved and so on.
